The Hongqi has arrived, and with it the greater hopes that powerful Chinese will ride in symbols of Chinese power. The Honqi L5 sedan produced by China's FAW Group, first unveiled last year (and called the L9 at the time), is - in some circles - intended to be among the homegrown replacements for the millions of foreign luxury cars the Chinese government purchases for important officials. Shown at this year's Beijing Motor Show in production guise and now available to civilians as well, a Chines
The guys at Autoblog have recently went for a spin with the Pagani Huayra proving once again that a great supercar doesnвt necessarily have to have a long tradition like Ferrari or Lamborghini. The Pagani Huayra is ending up in our news once again and after it made a discreet appearance during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, the Italian supercar is now taken for a spin by the guys at Autoblog. The official replacement of the Zonda doesnвt get a full video review in the footage posted below but, even so, almost every material with the Huayra is worth mentioning. The Pagani Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine with dual turbochargers, which is producing a total output of 700 HP, with a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (740 lb-ft). The Italian supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3. 5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph). The Pagani Huayra is capable of withstanding 1. 5G of lateral acceleration and its engine is mated to a seven-speed sequential transmission.

The supercar is priced at 1,150,000 USD and it has been in production since 2011. http://media. caranddriver. com/images/15q3/660804/toyota-c-hr-concept-previewing-a-future-scion-crossover-news-car-and-driver-photo-662072-s-original. jpg (http://www. caranddriver. com/photo-gallery/toyota-c-hr-concept-previewing-a-future-scion-crossover-auto-show) Toyota C-HR Concept: Previewing a Future Scion Crossover Weird chasing weird: Toyota plans a Nissan Juke competitor. Toyota is known for a lot of things, but whimsy and weirdness are not chief among them. Sure, the new Prius (http://www. caranddriver. com/news/2016-toyota-prius-photos-and-info-news) is weird, but not in a fun way. The new C-HR concept, on the other hand, is weird in a great way. Even better, its headed for production and, if were reading the tea leaves correctly, itll probably be badged a Scion for the United States. That gives it free license to let its freak flag fly. An evolution of the matte-blue design study of the same name (http://blog. caranddriver. com/toyota-c-hr-concept-typical-boring-toyota-name-atypically-stimulating-toyota-styling/) that debuted last year at the Paris auto show (http://www. caranddriver. com/2014-paris-auto-show), the new C-HR has sprouted an extra set of doors for a total of four and looks nearly as wild as its predecessor despite being a step closer to production. The C-HR concept rides high on a set of huge wheels pushed way out to the corners of the swoopy body, which features an extra-aggressive iteration of Toyotas corporate Angry Birds face.

As with the Nissan Juke (http://www. caranddriver. com/nissan/juke), there are a number of jarring details in the C-HRs design, including an odd flat plane in the front bumper, headlamps mounted nearly at chest level, a deep swage line rising up before the rear fenders, and a dramatic waistline peak in the rear doors. We particularly dig the floating roof treatment and the L-shaped taillamps that shoot off the body like a pair of handles, the better for daredevil skateboarders to grab, yo. http://media. caranddriver. com/images/media/51/toyota-c-hr-concept-inline-photo-662170-s-original. jpg (http://www. caranddriver. com/photo-gallery/toyota-c-hr-concept-previewing-a-future-scion-crossover-auto-show) Much is likely to change when we see the production-intent version, which Toyota says will happen at the 2016 Geneva auto show. We expect that the roofline will be altered to accommodate taller passengers, while the greenhouse should also grow a bit so those same folks can actually see out. Minor bits such as the diffuser, mirrors, and headlamp innards could change, too, and the wheels and tires will certainly shrink to humbler dimensions. If it indeed becomes the long-awaited Scion crossover (http://blog. caranddriver. com/im-not-alone-scion-also-planning-funky-crossover-and-sporty-sedan/) on which weve previously reported, we shall see how much Toyota changes the front end to sync it up with any of Scions current products, none of which are seemingly linked in any way through design.

For our part, we hope that Toyota changes as little as possible. The Toyota C-HR conceptas will, we assume, the production versionutilizes the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) (http://blog. caranddriver. com/cowa-tnga-toyotas-new-modular-platform-reaching-production-this-year/) that underpins the 2017 Prius, a vehicle thats also making its auto-show debut in Frankfurt. Not coincidentally, the C-HR concept also is a hybrid, says Toyota, although the company didnt say which, if any, of its powertrain components are shared with the Prius. The future production model almost certainly will be powered by a naturally aspirated four-banger and will offer front- and all-wheel drive, as do all of its competitors. Speaking of, the C-HR or Scion iC (you heard it here first! ) or whatever its called will face off against the likes of the Juke, the Mazda CX-3 (http://www. caranddriver. com/mazda/cx-3), and the Jeep Renegade (http://www. caranddriver. com/jeep/renegade) when it hits the streets, likely by the end of next year. Its worth noting that just a few steps away on the Frankfurt show floor, Nissan upped its own funkiness quotient by unveiling the wild Gripz (http://blog. caranddriver. com/nissan-comes-to-gripz-with-potential-juke-replacement-previews-grippy-concept/) concept, a production version of which may debut in 2017 as a companion to the Juke.
